Excellent hotel! Beautiful scenery accompanied by wonderful service.

The hotel is in a very lush environment with beautiful birds. There is a swimming pool in a quiet location and a lovely jacuzzi. The food is excellent and the service is very personalised and welcoming! We had the villa which had a little garden and a private jacuzzi. I would definitely come back to this beautiful tranquil hotel

🐜 “Reigning Ants” at a Luxury Bungalow — A Nightmare Dismissed by Management I stayed at Hotel Sazagua in Pereira, Colombia from June 27th to June 30th, 2025, invited by my sister who generously booked their most expensive and newly built luxury bungalow — a space that promised peace and elegance. The first two nights were beautiful. The setting is idyllic, the design thoughtful. But then came the third night — and a truly traumatic experience. At around 3:00 AM, after a heavy rain, I was abruptly woken by what felt like tickling on my face and body. To my horror, I discovered that tiny ants were falling from the ceiling and biting me — aggressively, and in great numbers. My face, back, arms, torso, even under my clothes — I was completely covered in painful bites. Now, over a week later, I’m still suffering from the aftermath. I have hundreds of inflamed ant bites, as the photos attached show clearly. The pain, itching, and aesthetic impact have followed me long after I left. While I understand that natural incidents can occur, what shocked me the most was how the situation was handled — or rather, dismissed — by both the general manager and one of the owners of the hotel. Instead of offering meaningful assistance, medical support, or follow-up, they simply deducted the price of a massage and said, “Don’t worry, it won’t happen again.” No empathy, no accountability, no health check — just a shrug from the people in charge. This was not just disappointing — it was irresponsible. Hotel Sazagua markets itself as a five-star boutique destination, but when it comes to guest safety and crisis management, it fails dramatically. Until management proves they can respond seriously to guest emergencies, no design or decor can make up for that lack of responsibility. Travelers, beware: the place may look like paradise, but it took only one storm and one night to turn my stay into a nightmare — one that management chose to minimize rather than resolve.

What a gorgeous hotel and location. We stayed in a lodge and it was one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We had our own outdoor jacuzzi which was especially wonderful when it rained. It was tranquil and quiet to be in a luxury room in what felt like the rainforest. The room and hotel was always clean. The location was secure and a good base for excursions. The staff were kind and helpful. The food was good but the winelist was a bit uninspiring, but we found the wine options a bit uninspiring overall in Colombia so this was not a drawback. There was a breakfast special every morning which was great for a bit of variety. There is a pool but we didn't use it. Overall a fabulous hotel and I'd definitely recommend going the extra mile and booking a lodge

It was an amazing and relaxing place to stay with family! It wasn’t very hard to get to either, yet it was quiet and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast is great, and it’s included in the price. I would come again!
